Council Says Still No Communication On Heritage Sites Funding

Clare County Council says it still hasn’t received any communication from Government relating to a funding proposal for the takeover of three Shannon Heritage sites.

It follows suggestions from Clare Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe that a package is being finalised and a good deal for workers and the tourism offering at the iconic sites is imminent.

Earlier this month, the local authority announced that it couldn’t proceed with the proposed takeover of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Knappogue and Cragaunowen at this time, without real and meaningful support from Government.
