Clare County Council is to present a draft master plan from Shannon town centre to local representatives and the town’s Chamber this week.
The plan has been a number of the years in the making, with €100,000 allocated to it by the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund.
Clare FM understands the draft plan will be unveiled to councillors tomorrow, and pending the feedback from elected members, other stakeholders will be briefed in the coming weeks.
Local representatives previously referred to Shannon missing out on the latest round of URDF funding last month, the same fund where Ennis was granted more than €4 million to rejuvenate its streetscapes, as ‘a big blow’.
Niamh O Callaghan of the Love Shannon Group says when acted on, the plan needs to make the town a better place to live for all demographics.
