A Clare Independent TD is criticising the Government for what he says is poor timing in introducing energy measures that will primarily benefit people living in urban areas.
People will get 50 euro off gas bills and 70 euro off electricity a year after VAT changes confirmed yesterday, though cuts won’t apply to home heating oil.
Figures released this week by the Central Statistics Office indicate around two thirds of homes in Clare are heated by either oil or solid fuels.
