The President of the Clare branch of SVP says people in this county who’ve never availed of charity are now seeking help and support.

It comes amid continued debate surrounding the rising cost of living, with both the Taoiseach and the Tanaiste indicating no mini-budget will be announced before October.

It’s understood a substantial welfare and pension package is being planned for Budget 2023, along with the potential widening of tax bands and increased subsidies for childcare.

Clare SVP President Denis Carty says people from all demographics and backgrounds are now looking for assistance to get by.
