Clare Sees Greater Increase In SVP Calls Than National Average Amid Soaring Inflation

Clare has seen a larger increase in the number of people turning to SVP for help with the rising cost of living than the national average so far this year.

The charity’s branch in this county is reporting a 24 percent rise in calls for help here in the past six months, compared to 20 percent nationwide.

It follows figures from the CSO showing inflation has now hit a 38-year high, while the European Central Bank is to raise interest rates next month.
