Clare Older People’s Volunteer Of The Year ‘Privileged’ To Win Award

The Clare Older People’s Volunteer of the Year says she feels privileged to win the award.

Marie Molony from Ennis has emerged victorious from the shortlist of twelve nominees during a ceremony at Hotel Woodstock.

The Award is hosted by the Clare Older People’s Council and supported by Clare County Council.

81-year-old Marie is a founding member of the Clare Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society, volunteers with Éire Óg and used her daily walks during lockdown to keep an eye on the mental and physical health of her friends and neighbours.

She says she doesn’t volunteer to win awards.
