Clare Immigrant Support Hopeful New Initiative Will Eliminate Local Protests

The Clare Immigrant Support Network claims appropriate and timely community engagement is essential to successfully integrating Asylum Seekers.

The government is rolling out new civic engagement teams this week which will aim to liaise with residents ahead of the arrival of International Protection Applicants.

The state has faced intense scrutiny this year for their lack of communication prior to refugees moving into Magowna House and the Central Hotel in Miltown Malbay, with the former leading to the erection of a local road block.
