Clare Haven Says 22 Unanswered Calls To Clare Domestic Abuse Victims Are ‘Chilling’

The manager of services at Clare Haven has described an admission that 22 calls to Gardai relating to domestic violence went unanswered in this county between 2019 and 2020 as ‘chilling’.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris outlined the figure at a meeting of Clare’s Joint Policing Committee earlier this week.

14 of the calls related to requiring assistance from Gardai, with all calls having since been followed up b the Divisional Protective Engagement Unit since the issue came to light.
