Clare Haulier Says Driver Shortage Could Lead To ‘Third Rate’ Economy

The Ennis-based, President of the Irish Road Haulage Association, believes a shortage of lorry drivers could lead to Ireland having a reputation, as a ‘third rate’ economy.

It’s believed the pandemic has led to a higher turnover of drivers, with many having taken up jobs in other sectors.

Waiting times to sit HGV tests, are understood to be nearly a year.
