Clare Fatal Road Crash Victim Named Locally As Gardaí Issue Fresh Appeal For Information

A man who died in a road crash on the M18 motorway in Clare has been named locally.

48-year-old Kenneth Smyth from Askeaton in Co Limerick, was the sole occupant of a jeep which overturned at Clonmoney West, Bunratty shortly after two o’clock on Friday afternoon.

The jeep was towing animals in a trailer at the time.

Kenneth will be laid to rest following a Funeral Service for family in the Church of Ireland, Castletown, Kilcornan on Wednesday.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks has issued a fresh appeal for information following the crash.
