Cher Calls On Government To ‘Turn Back Time’ On Shannon LNG Support

Singer Cher has lent her support to a growing campaign against the establishment of a liquified gas terminal in the Shannon Estuary.

Repeated calls have been made on the government to withdraw its support for the Shannon LNG project which is due to be established on the North Kerry coast, and is due to process gas that has been extracted from lands outside of Ireland through the controversial process of fracking.

Environmental groups have fought against the project, and have now received the backing of the music icon Cher, who has posted an open letter to the Taoiseach on social media in which he’s urged to remove the terminal from an EU list of important projects.
