Almost €218,000 has been announced for the development of a number of sports and playground facilities in Clare.

The funding forms part of the latest round of the CLÁR Programme, which provides rural communities with the finance needed to invest in small-scale projects for their localities.

The primary schools in Lissycasey, Crusheen, Annagh and Scarriff have all been granted money for upgrades to their playgrounds, fencing and footpaths; while the Ennistymon & District Sports Amenity Partnership West Clare Sports & Fitness will develop new sports facilities with their grants.
