Secondary students from 16 Clare schools are battling it out for a place in the final of this year’s Local Enterprise Offices’ Student Enterprise Programme.

Clare’s Junior Minister Pat Breen has launched the programme, along with Ireland rugby star Josh van der Flier, who participated in it during his school days.

The initiative allows students from 1st to 6th year set up and run their own business and find out what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur.

Last year saw two Clare schools represented in the final and this year’s participants will be hoping to emulate their success in reaching the National Finals in Croke Park on May 1st.
