Current Mandatory Hotel Quarantine System Is ‘Madness’ – McNamara

Clare’s Independent TD is describing the process of mandatory hotel quarantine here as ‘madness’.

Incoming travellers from an additional 16 states – including the US, Canada, Belgium, France and Italy – are now required to complete ten days of quarantine in a regulated setting here as of this morning.

It comes after the online booking system for participating hotels has been temporarily paused over concerns there are not enough rooms to meet demand over the coming days.

The Government is planning to have over thirteen hundred rooms available to passengers by Monday week.
