A Clare man leading efforts by the United Nations to clear explosives in Ukraine believes people here would be shocked at how normal life is in the capital, despite ongoing overnight drone and missile attacks.
The Kremlin’s been ramping up strikes after Ukraine hit several Russian airfields recently, though state media in Moscow are reporting the consequences have been ‘greatly exaggerated’.
Newmarket on Fergus native David McMahon, who has extensive experience in explosives ordnance and demining has been living in Kiev, where he says there has been an increase in overnight drone and missile attacks in recent days.
David’s been telling Clare FM’s Morning Focus that people are having to adjust the way they live and sleep to get through the night.
