Museums, theatres, churches, studios and other buildings will open their doors for free this evening to celebrate the best of Irish culture and art.

Here in Clare, Ennis, Ballyvaughan, Ennistymon, Miltown Malbay Kilkee, Kilrush and Sixmilebridge will host some of the over 1300 events scheduled to take place in every corner of Ireland.

Meanwhile, Ireland’s first ever Polish festival kicks off in Ennis today – honouring the contribution of the region’s 20-thousand Poles to the Mid-West.

The three-week festival at the Clare Museum will celebrate Polish heritage, history and culture.

Organisers say they hope the festival will encourage the over 2500 Poles living in Clare to celebrate their heritage.
