A Crusheen-based storyteller admits he’s disappointed no Irish institution has expressed an interest in his material as he prepares to donate recordings to an American university.
Eddie Lenihan, who is one of Ireland’s last seanchaí, has been recording oral history for the past 50 years.

His material includes tapes covering Gaelic mythology, local superstitions and memories of the Civil War.
However, he says he’s disappointed no Irish outlet was interested in the vast archive.
