Cross-border Health Scheme ‘Needs To Be Resolved’ Post-Brexit

Clare’s Independent TD has warned that a scheme which allows patients here receive medical treatments in the North or the UK will have to be borne in mind during the Brexit negotiations.

The EU Cross Border Healthcare Directive applies across all member states, but patients here typically go to the UK in a bid to avoid long waiting lists in Ireland.

Dr. Harty is publicising the scheme as a potential boost for Clare patients, even though its future looks somewhat uncertain:
