There’s been sharp criticism of the decision to transfer the responsibility for Regional and Local roads from Clare County Council to the National Roads Authority
The responsibility for all regional and local roads is to be taken over by the NRA from the Department of Transport.

The move has caused anger among local representatives who say that the maintenance of local roads will be delayed and it will be harder to ensure work gets carried out
Bodyke Councillor Joe Cooney is against the move and is concerned that roads will be left in bad conditions for longer periods of time
