Significant Damage Caused During Lisseycasey Credit Union Break-In

A Garda investigation is underway following a break-in to the Credit Union in Lisseycasey overnight.

Thieves gained entry to the premises by forcing open a side door at around 3 o’clock this morning and proceeded to ransack the building, causing considerable damage.

It’s understood that no money has been taken.

A forensic examination of the scene is underway and Gardaí are examining CCTV footage.

Superintendent John Galvin says the investigation is in its early stages and is appealing to anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

The Credit Union is Lisseycasey will remain closed today and tomorrow on account of the issue.

CEO Of St Francis Credit Union Group Louis Faye admits that customers will be affected but he says people will be able to access their funds in Kildysart, Kilmihil and Ennis.
