Gardaí are investigating two separate arson attacks on a house in the Cloughleigh area of Ennis
The incidents, which both happened in recent days, occured in the early hours of the morning as Clare FM’s Gavin Grace reports.
The first incident occured in the early hours of last Thursday morning, between 4:00 and 5:00, when a deliberate attempt was made to set alight a house at Pearce Avenue, Cloughleigh.
The second incident occured betwen 4:30 and 5:30 yesterday morning, when – it’s understood – the same home was targeted once more.
The home was unoccupied on both occasions, and there were no injuries.
Ennis Gardaí have been investigating both incidents since last Thursday, with the scenes forensically examined.
Gardaí are satisfied that the fires were started on purpose, and have conducted house to house inquiries, while CCTV footage has also been examined.
No arrests have been made in the investigation, which sources stress is in its early stages.
