Gardaí Continue To Question Two Men In Connection With Shannon Crime Spree

Gardaí are continuing to question two men arrested in connection with a number of incidents in the Shannon area.

On this day last week, at around 7.30pm, a man was knocked to the ground at Bothar Mór by two men, who got away with a small purse containing money.

It’s understood that the following Friday, the same men threatened and intimidated a young man with a knife at Ballycasey Park and stole his mobile phone and bank card.

His car was later used at an ATM to withdraw cash.

While, on Saturday two shops were targeted by the men, who were later arrested and detained at Shannon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Tríona O’Rourke is appealing to anyone with information on these incidents to come forward.
