Court Sittings To Return To Kilrush But Not Killaloe

Court sittings return to Kilrush today.

Sittings of the District Court in Kilrush were moved away from the town in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the court sitting in Ennis instead.

Now, however, the courts service has said that the court will return to West Clare, beginning on Tuesday.

However, they also say that the safety measures required mean it will not be possible to use their venue in Killaloe, so its sittings will remain in Ennis Courthouse for the foreseeable future.

The Killaloe court had been sitting in a function room of the Brian Boru pub in Ballina in recent years, up until the beginning of the COVID outbreak.
