Concern That Rural Clare Is Being Left Behind In Policing Terms

Fresh concern is being expressed that rural communities in Clare are being left behind in terms of policing.

It comes as the Policing Authority’s report into the performance of An Garda Síochána so far this year has found that the Gardaí are off target to meet their commitment to recruit an additional 600 officers.

While the report was overall complimentary, it also found that the commitment to redeploy 500 officers and increase the numbers in roads policing are also being missed.
