Up to and including last Thursday, 11,607 COVID-related fines had been issued by Gardaí.

Over 9,000 of these were €100 fines for people who were found to have left home without a reasonable excuse, while 1,400 people were fined €150 fines for attending events in homes.

445 international travellers and 404 event organisers were handed the heftiest fines of €500.

There’s no breakdown issued for Clare, but the county figure here shows 208 fines issued in this county.

49 of those were issued in the week to last Thursday.

The total figure for Clare is the lowest of any Division in the Gardaí’s Southern Region.

Elsewhere, only Mayo, Sligo/Leitrim, Westmeath and the Eastern and Southern regions of Dublin have seen a lower number of fines handed out.
