COVID Woes Sees Shannon Airport Traffic Down Over 98%

Shannon Airport handled an average of only 39 passengers per day at the beginning this year, as the COVID pandemic continues to wreak havoc with the aviation sector.

1,214 passengers passed through the Airport in January, down by 98.6% on the 86,000 recorded in the same month last year.

Dublin, Cork and Knock Airports all showed major slumps in traffic, with the total number of people flying into and out of the four airports in January standing at 206,000, down from 2.37 million last year.
