Covid Downgrading Of Ennis NDLS Office Made Permanent

The temporary Covid downgrading of the National Driving Licence Service office in Ennis has now been made permanent.

The Department of Transport says the contract with the current service providers in centres across the country, which was put in place last year, no longer offers a walk in service.

It’s understood a number of elderly drivers across the county have had difficulty availing of the service in Ennis since the onset of the pandemic.

Junior Minister for Transport, Hildegarde Naughton, has told Clare Independent TD Michael McNamara that a recruitment process for an additional staff member in the county town is ongoing.
