COVID-19 Incidence Rate Continues to Rise In Shannon

There’s been a rise in the incidence of COVID-19 in the Shannon area once again this week while the number of cases in Ennis has significantly dropped.

Latest figures from on the county’s 14 day incidence rate reveal that two of the county’s five electoral areas recorded less than five cases of the virus in the past fortnight.

The highest incidence of COVID-19 in Clare is now in Shannon.

30 cases have been confirmed there in the two weeks up to this past Monday leaving its rate per 100,000 people standing at 98.7.

The Ennis electoral area reported 9 cases in the same 14 day period, that’s a significant reduction on recent case numbers there. Killaoe reported a slight increase- 7 cases in the last fortnight.

The Ennistymon and Kilrush electoral areas have once again recorded less than five cases in the last two weeks.
