The Agriculture Minister has ruled out any prospect of his Department re-opening a full-time office in Ennis.
However, Simon Coveney has told Clare FM that he has an ‘open mind’ regarding the possibility of a part-time service on mart days in Ennis.
The Department of Agriculture’s office in Ennis closed in April of last year, forcing farmers throughout the county to travel to the Limerick office in Raheen for the processing of documents.
There have been calls for a satellite service to be opened in Clare’s county town, and in an interview on today’s edition of Clare FM’s Morning Focus,- live from the National Ploughing Championships, Minister Coveney says this may yet happen
