Coveney insists Ireland wont be GM Hub

The Agriculture Minister insists Ireland is not set to become a hub for GM food, despite a new license being granted for a trial of genetically modified potatoes.

Simon Coveney’s comments come in light of a decision by the EPA to grant Teagasc permission to begin trials to grow potatoes which would be more resistant to blight.
