A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the burglary of an East Clare home owned by Ireland’s largest lotto winner.
The 41-year-old Limerick man was remanded in custody until next month.
Tinerana House is located on the outskirts of Killaloe and is owned by Euromillions winner Dolores McNamara and her family.
However, the Victorian mansion was targetted by criminals on dates between August 17th and September 14th, with taps, chandaliers and copper items all taken.
This week, Gardai arrested four people at addresses in Clare and Limerick. One of those, 41-year-old Jeffrey Lee of Cosgrove Park, Moyross, Limerick appeared before Ennis District Court yesterday facing charges linked to the crime.
Gardai made no objection to Mr. Lee being remanded in custody with consent to bail, but the court heard that he was not in a position to take up bail, and he will appear before Ennis District Court again next Wednesday.
The three others arrested in connection with the crime, one teenager and two men in their 20s, have been released without charge with a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
