Clare’s garda division recorded the lowest number of road fatalities in the country in 2011.
Provisional figures released by the county’s Chief Superintendent show two people lost their lives on Clare’s roads last year – down fifty percent on 2010.

It also represents a significant drop from the average of 7 to 15 in the past decade.
While welcoming the reduction Clare’s Chief Superintendent John Kerin says gardai are not going to get complacent and will continue to work with Clare County Council in rolling out the road safety message.
