Clare County Council says it has "sufficient" supplies of rock salt to treat regional and national roads over the winter period.

1600 tonnes of rock salt are in storage at the local authority's maintanance facility in Beechpark which facilitates up to 30 applications on the county's roads network.
Salt stocks will also be drawn down from Transport Infrastructure Ireland during winter months and more is available if required in an emergency situation.
