Counts, recounts and re-checks are resuming this morning to elect the remaining TDs to the 32nd Dail.
There are just ten seats still to be filled, with 148 deputies elected over the weekend.
Fine Gael have 47 seats, with 43 for Fianna Fail and 22 for Sinn Fein.
Labour has 6 seats, the Anti Austerity Alliance – People Before Profit group have 5 while, the Independent Alliance have 4 seats.
16 Independent deputies have been elected, the Social Democrats have 3 seats, and the Green Party have 2.
Attention is beginning to turn towards the formation of the next government, but already some Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil members have spoken out against a so-called grand coalition
Independents could also form a key part of any new coalition – this weekend, Clare TDs Timmy Dooley, Pat Breen and Michael Harty outlined their views on the matter to Clare FM.
Meanwhile, much speculation also surrounds the future of Taoiseach Enda Kenny as the leader of Fine Gael after his party's disappointing performance.
After he was elected yesterday, Clarecastle TD Joe Carey insisted there were some successes, but said it was too soon to evaluate the party's position.
Elsewhere, there are still TDs to be elected in Dublin South Central and Dublin South West.
A recount in Longford/Westmeath was adjourned in the early hours of this morning and will resume later.
