Count in Meath By Election

The counting of votes in the Meath By Election gets underway this morning.

Turnout at polling stations in the county yesterday appeared to be low with the final tally not expected to reach 40 percent.

Fine Gael’s Helen McEntee and Fianna Fáil’s Thomas Byrne are the front-runners to take the seat and a first count is expected around lunchtime or early afternoon.
