Ministers from across the European Union could be headed to Clare for a major meeting next year, if the County Council gets it’s way.

Local representatives have called for an inter-governmental conference to be held in the county, as part of Ireland’s staging of the EU Presidency in the first half of 2013.
Co-inciding with the year of The Gathering, and the hoped-for emergence of Shannon as an independent airport, it’s claimed that such an event would provide a significant boost for Clare, in terms of enterprise and exposure.
