Clare Councillors have renewed their criticisms of the decision of Shannon Heritage to curtail business operations this summer.
While Bunratty Castle and King John’s Castle have re-opened, it’s still planned for them to close at the end of August, and both Knappogue Castle and Cragganouwen will remain closed.
Watched on by around a dozen Bunratty staff, a host of Clare Councillors hit out at what they called a “disappointing” and “horrible” decision, and promised to support them in making efforts to convince Shannon Group to change their plans.
Sixmilebridge Independent Councillor, PJ Ryan, says the region as a whole will suffer due to Shannon Heritage’s decision, as many business benefit from the increase in tourists.
