Clare County Councillors will make a decision on a controversial new road for South-East Clare today.

Residents in Parteen and Clonlara are strongly opposed to plans for the Limerick Northern Distributor Road, but last week Councillors were told their decision was the "most important" facing Clare's local representatives in recent history.
A vote was due to be held last week, but was deferred, but the matter is now set to be finalised today.
Chair of the Northern Distributor Road Concerned Residents Group Edward English says their opposition will continute regardless of the outcome of today's vote.
