Clare Councillors are to hold a special meeting this afternoon to decide whether to delay the completion of the County Development Plan for a year.
A cross-party selection of representatives are looking for the measure for what they say will allow them and the public ‘more time to fully engage’ with the process.

Concerns have previously been expressed that the current form of the plan could lead to the depopulation of rural areas of Clare.
The plan, if and when it’s signed off on, is due to run from 2022 to 2028.
