Elected representatives have called for a reversal of the cuts to LEADER, which Lissycasey Councillor PJ Kelly says will mean a reduction in Clare's allocation to from €16.2 million to €8.9 million.
The Fianna Fáil representative has also criticised the government's decision to set aside only €5 million of Ireland's LEADER funding for a group tasked with rejuvenating rural areas.
That money has been linked with the Pat Spillane-chaired CEDRA group and Councillor Kelly believes it's a paltry amount.
