Councillors express concern over Ennis image following Pavelka case

Ennis Town Council has re-iterated it’s stance that it has no evidence that Joseph Pavelka, or his friend Piotr Baram were sleeping in a public toilet in the town.

It was Judge Patrick Durcan’s initial description of this situation as a ‘scandal’ which gave local and national media attention to the story, but at last evening’s meeting of the local authority, town manager Ger Dollard outlined how extensive investigations had found no evidence of anyone sleeping in public toilets.

Councillors also expressed concern that coverage of the case could have given people outside of Ennis a bad perception of the town.

Independent Councillor Frankie Neylon feels the portrayal of Ennis in the media has been unfair
