Councillors Defer Decision On Controversial Road

Clare Councillors have deferred making a decision on the route of the Limerick Northern Distributor Road.

While the route for the 120 million euro road was selected, a concerted campaign by its opponents helped force a special Council meeting on the issue last evening.

However, as Limerick Councillors are to make a decision on their section of the road next month, local representatives here deferred their discussions until the situation there becomes clearer.

Independent Councillor Michael Begley explained to Clare FM why the decision was delayed.
