A Shannon Councillor says its wrong to use flood risk as a reason to refuse home insurance for householders in the town.

A number of householders have been refused any form of house insurance when applying for their annual renewal, due to a perceived flood risk.
The issue is due to be discussed at a meeting between representatives of the local authority’s Environment Section and the Office of Public Works.
Sinn Fein Councillor Mike Mc Kee says the situation is unacceptable.
