Clare County Council’s warning motorists to expect ice on all roads across the county this evening and into tomorrow.
The local authority’s warning that showers of rain are coming in from the west throughout the next 24 hours which will result in icy conditions even on treated road surfaces.
Winter maintenance crews will be treating Clare’s priority routes this evening, though drivers are being warned ice may still materialise on treated surfaces.
Met Eireann’s issued a status yellow warning for ice for the entire country which is valid until noon tomorrow.
Senior Engineer with the local authority’s roads and transportation department, John Leahy, wants people to remain cautious.
