Council To Undertake ‘Review’ Of Hedge Cutting Policy

Clare County Council says it intends to review each hedgecutting policy across the county.

It follows concerns raised by representatives at this week’s monthly meeting that overgrown hedges are posing threats to public safety, particularly on rural roads.

The Wildlife Act means local authorities are not permitted to cut hedges during ‘growing season’ between March 1st and August 31st.
