Clare County Council is set to spend up to €160,000 on new staff training software.
It comes as the local authority is seeking tenders for the delivery of a learning management system for its Tourism Department.
A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software platform used to create, deliver, track, and manage educational courses or employee training programs.
Clare County Council is seeking to roll out a new system for its tourism department and is currently seeking a provider on a four-year contract worth €160,000.
Council documents say the new software would be used by as many as 400 staff of its Tourism Department and a further 15 administration personnel.
The technology is expected to be rolled out at offices at Harmony Row in Ennis, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience, the Vandeleur Walled Gardens and Ennistymon Digi-Hub.
Clare County Council is accepting offers up until 1pm on September 18th , with the clarification period closing on September 9th.

Clare Tourism Development DAC as a wholly owned subsidiary of Clare County Council can confirm that it is progressing a procurement process for the provision and implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS). The proposed system is intended to support the delivery, administration and monitoring of training and development programmes for the company.
As the procurement process is currently ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment in detail on specific aspects of the tender or potential future uses of the system until the process has concluded. At this stage, we are not in a position to confirm the specific organisations or user groups that may ultimately utilise the platform, nor can we provide further information beyond what is contained within the tender documentation.
