Clare County Council is to seek clarification on the future of the county’s rural transport network.

In light of a leaked draft document which proposes to replace community transport companies, including Clare Accessible Transport, with regional bodies, local representatives have passed a motion calling on the Transport Minister to clarify the coalition’s intentions.
The Council is also calling for current services to be retained and enhanced.
North Clare Fine Gael Councillor Joe Arkins feels a regional service would not be suitable for Clare.
