Clare’s county manager says the Council will have to wait for details of government funding before it’s known what works will be carried out in communities ravaged by storms over the past week.

Tom Coughlan will reveal the total cost of the damage at a Special Meeting at Aras Chontae an Chlair this afternoon, but has already told Clare FM that the final figure for Clare alone will be significantly more than ten million euro.
The final estimate will then be sent to government, though it’s not known what portion of the funding sought will be allocated to Clare.
Tom Coughlan says this figure will determine what works are carried out along the county’s coast.
