Clare County Council says it will now actively promote the county’s key tourism attractions to new European markets served by Shannon Airport.
Links with the continent have been strengthened this week by Ryanair’s announcement of new flights to eight destiantions in Paris, Nice, Berlin and Munich, beginning in April.
While these services offer greater choice to local travellers, they will also see thousands of extra visitors visit Clare and the MidWest next year.
Clare County manager Tom Coughlan, who also sits on the Board of the Shannon Airport Authority, feels Clare has much to promote and says efforts will be made to spread that message.
