The local authority is to explore its options following a proposal for a landmark ‘Taste of Clare’ food festival to be hosted in Ennis.
The Clare Food and Drink Fleadh was the latest event of its kind to be held here , but this culminated on a much smaller scale last year.

Clare County Council has now stated that the cost of reviving the festival would be significant, but that it’s looking into opportunities to promote the county’s rich food heritage through awards events and other initiatives.
Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor Antoinette Baker Bashua believes it should be trialled.
